Uncut Interview with my Architect Father

A couple years ago, I had the privilege of working with my dad, an architect, to design a house for a client who is very dear to me. It was such a special experience bringing him into the project, and I knew combining our creative ideas would lead to something amazing. I also saw it as a great opportunity to learn from him.

But I did have some concerns. This client and I have worked together on many projects and have built a strong friendship. I also love working with her contractor—we make a great team. What if my dad didn’t fit in? What if we clashed working so closely together? How would we handle any conflicts that came up?

Thankfully, my fears were unfounded. Both the client and the contractor loved working with my dad. They even mentioned how inspiring it was to see a father-daughter team collaborating on the project.

Working with my dad felt natural. He’s someone I’ve always admired, and collaborating with him was a dream come true. His expertise and experience, combined with our unique creative ideas, made us a strong team.

Would I do it again? Absolutely! I’d love to work with him on every project. Our different strengths complement each other perfectly.

Check out the interview to hear his honest thoughts about working with me and some helpful tips for collaborating with an architect!

Much Love + Big Hugs!
